The Tournament is being planned for the weekend of the 2nd to the 5th of October 2009 at Bonville near Coffs Harbour. “We are looking for some volunteers from each member club to coordinate the activities and communications to?and?from each member club. Invitations will also be extended to International Nomad clubs with a South African contingent already showing great interest. “This date is not that far into the future, so please make a note in your diaries and start saving towards what is shaping up into an unforgettable occasion. | | National Presidents report to the AGM Nomads
It is with pleasure that I present a very brief report on Nomads Australia
The Nomads golf organization worldwide will be celebrating its 50 anniversary in March of 2010. This is a real testament to the strength of the clubs individually to make the whole organization as strong as it is. Some 30 Million rand has been donated to charities during this time. Little did the founders of Nomads believe that the organization would grow to 13 clubs in South Africa, 3 in Zimbabwe, 1 in Botswana, 1 in New Zealand and 2 in Australia. It is you the members that make a club strong and I thank you for your participation in the monthly games. I know that the cammeraraderie between members will grow stronger and stronger the longer we keep playing together and who knows what we might achieve with Nomads in Australia. |

Charity Day 2008 Raises $20,000 |
| PHOTOS OF THE CHARITY DAY CAN BE FOUND IN THE PHOTO ALBUM IN THE MEMBER SECION Our Vice Captain and Chairman of the 2008 SVM Chrysler Jeep Charity Day Committee, Derrick Jones, was delighted when he told The Scorecard that “due to the fantastic effort of my committee and the generosity of our sponsors we were able to raise in excess of $20,000 for Autism Aspect Australia and The Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation.” “We had reasonable support from our Nomads members (36) out of a total of 109 golfers on the day.” The Charity Day Committee hopes to hand over a substantial proportion of the funds raised to Autism Aspect Australia at the final monthly game of the year at Riverside Oaks. Bravo Derrick!!!!! We were lucky with the weather and the wind didn’t really get up too strong. Testament to the good weather was the pink lobster looking Phil Clapham and Mark Reading who took a bit of punishment from the rays. It certainly made it a bit harder for Phil to explain how he worked at home when he got to work the next day. Congratulations to all involved. |
