Jordan has been up in Sydney since our interview and is playing at Moore Park this weekend in the City of Sydney Open Amateur. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to let you know before the weekend as I only got back from Sydney yesterday myself.
He played 18 holes yesterday and is playing 36 holes today. He shot 2 over yesterday in very tough conditions with the best score 1 over, so coming equal 2nd.
Also just wanted to let the Nomads know (as promised last week) what Jordan has been up to over the last couple of months.
Jordan left for Alice Springs early in April to compete in the Australian Junior Amateur as captain of the NSW State Team which was held at Alice Springs Golf Club. Jordan finished 8th with scores of 74, 70, 73 and 73 finishing 2 over for the tournament. The next week he competed as part of the NSW Team in the Interstate Series playing No 1 and brought home the trophy winning the series ahead of Queensland by 3.5 matches. Jordan was undefeated throughout his 7 matches.
Jordan then returned home and on 22 and 23 April he competed in the JNJGF Harvey Norman State Junior Matchplay and became the 17 Years Champion, defending his 2008 title.
We then received a phone call from Golf Australia to inform us that Jordan had been chosen as 1 of 4 of the Australian Under 19 Team to attend the World Junior Championships in Nagoya, Japan on 18-21 June to be held at Chukyo Golf Club.
And last but certainly not least Jordan left for Queensland on 26 April to compete in the Mens' Stroke Play Championships held at Pacific Harbour Golf Club on Bribie Island. Jordan finished an amazing 2nd with a final score of 1 under par and qualified to compete in the Queensland Mens' Amateur Matchplay the next week as part of the final 16 players. Unfortunately, he lost his first sudden death round.
The next tournament up there was the Keperra Bowl. Jordan made the cut of 70 out of 156 players on the number and finished 65th with scores of 75, 70, 77 and 70 (par 72).
We are all very proud of Jordan's amazing achievements and thrilled to share this with the Nomads. It is a very good feeling to give something back to the Members.
