Jordan Zunic China Tour PDF Print E-mail
Written by Philip Clapham

Hi Nomads,

Hope you are well.

Just thought I would give you an update on my trip to China. I played in the China Open Amateur from the 17th to the 20th of November at Peach Garden Golf Club and I came tied 11th with rounds of 77, 75, 74 and 77 to finish at +15, the conditions were very tough and the course was playing very long as the winner finished at +6.

I then went to Dragon Lake Golf Club the week after to play in the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Classic at Dragon Lake Golf Club from the 26th to the 29th of November, unfortunately I didn't play too well in this tournament shooting rounds of 77, 76, 78, and 80 which was a bit disappointing but the whole trip was still a great experience!!

How did the charity day go?

I am off to play the JNJGF Celebrity Classic up at Cypress Lakes next week.  That will be about it for 2009.

Just want to take this opportunity to wish the Nomads, you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Safe and Happy New Year.

Thanks again for all your help this year.

Kind regards,

Jordan Zunic

JNJGF Awards Night PDF Print E-mail
Written by Philip Clapham

It was a great honour and privilege to be asked to represent Nomads Sydney at the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation Sponsors Day and Awards Dinner at Concord GC on Thursday 5th November in the absence of Derrick and Chris, Captain and Vice Captain respectively. As you should all be aware Nomads Sydney support junior golf by sponsoring two juniors from the JNJGF namely Jordan Zunic and Ryan Smith.

I have been in weekley contact with Jordan who is more than happy to provide updates on his progress as you can see from the recent posts to the website.

meandJ

His exemplary conduct both on an off the golf course coupled with his prodigious talent has made us all proud to be associated with him. He is a credit to Nomads, The JNJGF, his family and most importantly to himself. Next week he will be travelling to China to play in the Aaron Baddley World Junior Finals and we wish im the best of luck. Thereafter comes the decision of when the right time is to turn pro. We will be keeping a lookout for you Jordan and I personally will make the journey back to my homeland to see you play in the British Open once you have travelled the long hard road to get there.

Finally, Jordan was not only picked to co MC the entire Awards Night but also won the Renay Appleby Memorial Award

Jordan and his family express their thanks for our support and he has recorded a short thank you video from the night to express his gratitude.

Representatives of Each Country Just Before Flag Raising

The National Tournament played at Noosa Springs resort was a great success. There was a field of 92 players and by the comments and feedback everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Wayne Richardson and his team can be very proud of the first Aussie National Tournament and the weeks of planning and organizing were well rewarded by the enthusiasm, laughter and great camaraderie that were in abundance.

The next National Tournament is to be hosted by Syney North and planning is well under way and no doubt all who attend can look forward to another memorable weekend. There was already talk from some of our international visitors of them returning next year.

For those who did not participate this year, you will hear a lot of comment about Noosa and no doubt next year will see many players returning and a lot of new faces wanting to experience the Nomads spirit of a National Tournament.

There has been considerable interest shown by Australian Nomads to participate in the South African Nationals in Pretoria in April 2010.

Jordan Zunic's Progress PDF Print E-mail
Written by Philip Clapham

 Dear Nomads,

Just thought that I would catch up as we haven't spoke for while, I have been very busy playing a few tournaments and just thought I would update you on some of my recent results.

On the 13th of July I played in the Mollymook Junior Open and I won overall. The following week on the 20th I played in the NSW Junior Champion of Champions at Catalina Country Club and came 2nd. Then the day after that the Subaru State Age Championships started which goes from the 21st to the 24th of July and is one of the biggest Junior tournaments of the year and I finished 3rd. Also on the 15th and 16th of August I played in the Muswellbrook Junior Masters and came 2nd.

So I have had a pretty consistent few months and am working hard now as there has been a bit of a break between tournaments and my next one isn't till the start of October so hopefully I can grab a win soon!!

Here are some tournaments I will be playing in in the following month:-

- 2nd to the 5th of October - The Federal Amateur Championship at Federal GC
- 7th to the 9th of OCtober - The NSW Junior Championship at Parkes GC
- 12th to the 16th of October - The Srixon International Classic at The Oaks GC Cessnock

Will be in touch when I get back from the above tournaments to give you an update.

Also just letting you know that unfortunately I may not be able to attend the Nomads Charity golf day in November as it is on at the same time as the NSW Open, but this will depend on weather I qualify or not so I will let you know.

Thanks again for all your continued support in my golfing career.

Jordan Zunic Progress Update PDF Print E-mail
Written by Philip Clapham
Nomads, how have you been?

Sorry I haven't written back sooner, I have just been so busy with tournaments lately.

Here are some of my latest results:

- 2nd to the 5th of October - The Federal Amateur Championship at Federal GC - T32nd

- 7th to the 9th of OCtober - The NSW Junior Championship at Parkes GC - T11th

- 12th to the 16th of October - The Srixon International Classic at The Oaks GC Cessnock - T12th

These results aren't what I anticipated but I am working with my new coach on swing changes which
will be more beneficial in the future.

I know that the charity day is 2 days before the NSW open starts but the reason I was saying I
couldn't make it was because last year and also this year if you qualify you have to go up to the
Vintage and register 2 days before on the 24th before 5 PM, so this is why I wouldn't be able to
make the day unless the tee off times are earlier in the morning. But I still have to qualify on
the 23rd of November so if I was to miss out I will definitely play on the day.

If there is another golf day I can attend to make up for it please let me know the date and I
will definitely attend if I am free.

Please note that I will be attending the Australian Final Qualifying for the Aaron Baddeley
International Junior Championships in Melbourne next Thursday and will be returning on Monday
the 2nd of November.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Jordan Zunic

I have asked Jordan if he and his dad can make the last game of the year at Riverside Oaks.

Participate in the Nationals PDF Print E-mail
Written by Philip Clapham

UPDATE

Further to the rally call to play in the Nationals as can be seen below. We have had a good response and will be taking 30 Nomads Sydney members to our inaugural nationals tournament. Please download the latest update by clicking the link below.

Nationals UPDATE in PDF

Gents,

As you are all aware, our Away Weekend this year is the Australian Nationals tournament at Noosa Springs in October.

At this stage we have less than 10 registrations from Sydney which is quite frankly pathetic for our inaugural event. Not withstanding the fact that the Maroons, Kiwi's and Bokke all think we are CHICKEN and too scared to attend because we are going to get beat......bad.....

I CANNOT let this stand.

So please download an application form from HERE fill it out and send it in. For all of you who attended last years Away Trip it will be not different, we will have a GREAT time with all the booze, blondes and rock n roll it entails + we get to march across the border and claim what is rightfully ours, the fact the WE are the best Nomads Club in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.........Let's STICK it to them!!!!
